To us, these words are a perfect description of Nataleen – one of our recent boudoir clients. She came to us in order to create a sexy gift for her boyfriend. Their one-year anniversary was last month and Nataleen wanted to do something extra special for him. Like any smart girl, she planned ahead – allowing our entire team to create the best possible results for her. The Iowa winter tried to get in our way as the worst snowstorm of the season hit the day of her session. Not to worry, we shifted the date and had a great time when we finally had the honor of creating her portraits!

Nataleen came to us with some great ideas – using white fabrics to create an intimate bedroom scene. We picked up a bed netting and added our own twist to the set. Using our new fluorescent light setup really made her eyes pop and gave her skin tones a very soft look. She brought some black outfits that were great against red, using our boudoir chase lounge against the brick made her stand out. We finished with a 40′s style look for her, using our changing area curtains and some back-lighting we created a stage scene for her. Her long black evening gown went great against the red curtains and again against our silver metallic wall – she made that dress look fantastic!

By the time we wrapped up her session – our studio was an aftermath of laughter and some awesome portraits. Don’t mind the mess, Nataleen – we had a blast chasing you throughout the studio and we enjoyed seeing Steve’s reaction when you brought him in to show off his gift!

“We couldn’t be happier to receive this honor” stated Brian. “We hoped that one of us would finish near the top, the fact we both did just makes it twice as good.” He added, “It was great our beauty team was there to share and enjoy the special moment”. Erin Stevens and Megan Orr serve as the beauty stylists for the studio and their work led to award-winning submissions.

Jeremy couldn’t believe he and Brian’s names continued to be called throughout the night. “I’m still in shock. I knew our portrait art was of a high quality and we could compete with some of the best, I just wasn’t expecting us to be received so well”. Jeremy was mentored by Brian and through that their partnership began. “I owe a lot to Brian for guiding me in my growth process as a professional photographer”.

In addition to the top 10 Iowa photographer awards, Brian and Jeremy had 3 prints that received scores of 80 or more to earn a merit. Less than 20% of all submissions merited. Below is a list of some of the additional awards earned by the studio:

We started by capturing her softer side in the studio – she brought an awesome white furry coat and we loved photographing her in it.  She created a great mood for us to capture – and it definitely came thru the lens!

We got to the “good stuff” by losing the coat and focusing on her making a black bikini look killer!  She let her “grrrr” out as we moved to the freight elevator that is conveniently a few steps from the studio door.  We had a great time using some colored gels to set the mood and create sexy portrait art centered around Ashley!

She recently came in to pick up her image box and prints – she was jumping/clapping as soon as she saw it – we love happy clients! Thanks again Ashley – you are a superstar.

One highlight of the session was Candy’s purse collection – we’ve never seen anything like it – and she didn’t even bring all of them!  It gave us great inspiration to photograph something cute that also meant so much to her.
